What to do while staying in Lochinver….



 As well as the mountain walks, there are no end of the walk around the sea, some of the more notable ones include:

The Culag Woods - Behind the harbour and Assynt Leisure Centre, which leads to a lovely pebbled beach called locally the “white shore”.

The Bones Caves at Inchnadamph - A virtually undisturbed Neolithic settlement less than 3 miles from the main road.

The Old Man of Stoer - A natural sea stack jutting out into the sea.

Kirkaig Falls – Head to Achins coffee and book store at inverkirkaig and start the walks to the falls at the base of suilven.

All Abilities Path – 1 mile out the road, which passes an ancient Highland clearances settlement.

Forest / River Walk – A circular walk, just past the small bridge at the end of the main road follow the river around bringing you at the end of Lochinver. Stunning views.

Walk to Achmelvich – Follow the road round to Badidarrach and Glendarroch and the path over the hills to Achmelvich.



Achmelvich Beach (1.5 miles away).                   Clachtoll Beach (3 miles away).                     Clashnessie Beach (8.8 miles away).









Lochinver is surrounded by a fantastic range of mountains all climbable.
